The Torre Attack

The Torre Attack is an extremely effective way of taking your opponent into an uncomfortable situation right from move one. White plays three simple moves 1 d4 2 Nf3 and 3 Bg5, avoiding a lot of dangerous variations that Black can often play against 1 d4 and 2 c4.

This opening is perfect for players who do not have unlimited time to memorise hours and hours of theory. In this DVD, GM Simon Williams shows you how to play this opening in an aggressive yet simple way. Concentrating on learning being fun yet effective. Trompowsky-Angriff

Der Zug 2.Lg5 wurde benannt nach dem Brasilianer Octavio Trompowsky (1897–1984), der ihn in den 1930er und 1940er Jahren anwandte. Bis in die 1980er Jahre hinein führte der Zug nur ein Schattendasein, doch dann griffen ihn einige experimentierfreudige englische Großmeister auf – allen voran Julian Hodgson – und bewiesen die Lebensfähigkeit dieses Systems, welches sich inzwischen fest etabliert hat.
