The Grivas Sicilian in 60 Minutes

The Grivas is a well-known and respected Sicilian variation. It starts with 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 and then the characterising move 4…Qb6. The knight is now attacked twice and must move. The main move is Nb3 to block the queen’s attack on b2. Subsequently, white will very often play Be3, kicking the queen back to c7. In this case black gets a Taimanov set-up, but the big difference is that white has a knight on b3 instead of d4. In this 60 Minutes video course you will learn the ins-and-outs of that difference, and how black will deal with the varied set-ups white can chose.
