How to play the Sicilian Defence!

La Defensa Siciliana es una apertura antigua que se mantiene moderna. La continua corriente de nuevas ideas en la Siciliana hace que 1..c5 sea la respuesta más popular a 1.e4. En este DVD presento los sistemas sicilianos más importantes. El enfoque no se dirige a la memorización de variantes, sino que presento algunas de mis partidas para mostrar los planes típicos y los motivos tácticos importantes, que pueden emplearse en diversos sistemas. El DVD se divide en tres partes. En la primera, comento 6 partidas ilustrativas propias que aportan una buena visión general sobre las diversas posibilidades de juego y ataque con ambos colores. La segunda parte se basa en la anterior y contiene diversos ejercicios. Por último, la tercera parte revela diversas celadas en la apertura, para aquellos a quienes les guste un poco la teoría. Conociendo esas celadas podrá evitar catástrofes en la Siciliana y pueden permitirle alguna victoria rápida ocasionalmente.

Siciliana

1.e4 c5 are the moves which define the Sicilian Defence. Black fights for the d4-square, but unlike with the double move of the black e-pawn the symmetry is immediately destroyed and Black is indicating that he is not simply aiming to achieve equality. Then things can continue in quite different directions. 2.Nf3 followed by 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 leads to the Open Sicilian. But before that, Black has the option of laying down the direction in which the opening will go, according to whether he plays 2...d6, 2...e6 or 2...Nc6. But nowadays systems in which White does without an early d4 are also very popular.
