Timur Gareyev

Timur Gareyev, born in Tashkent in 1988,
is an Uzbek chess grandmaster and blindfold chess specialist.
His greatest tournament successes include winning the 2018 US Open and the 2022 American Continental Championship.
Gareyev is best known for setting the still-standing Guinness World Record for a blindfold simultaneous exhibition.
In Las Vegas in 2016, he played 48 opponents at once, scoring 35 wins, seven draws and six losses over more than 19 hours.
He reached his peak rating of 2682 in 2013.
Gareyev has not represented a national federation under FIDE since 2024
and was permanently banned by the US Chess Federation for violations of its member-safety policies.
