Andrew Martin

Andrew David Martin, nació el 18 de mayo de 1957, en West Ham, Londres. Alcanzó el título de maestro internacional en 1984. Se ha coronado campeón en diversos torneos nacionales e internacionales y en 1997 alcanzó la primera norma de gran maestro en el Campeonato Británico en Brighton. Martin fue comentarista oficial del Campeonato del Mundo entre Kasparov y Kramnik en el año 2000.  El 21 de febrero de 2004, Martin logró un  récord del mundo en unas simultáneas de ajedrez. Se enfrentó con 321 oponentes y obtuvo 294 victorias, 26 empates y sufrió únicamente una sola derrota. Se dedica a la enseñanza de ajedrez y es entrenador jefe del equipo juvenil de Inglaterra. Da clases en ocho colegios (Yateley Manor, Aldro, Millfield, Sunningdale, Waverley School, St Michael’s Sandhurst, Wellington College, Salesian College). Además, Andrew Martin escribe columnas de ajedrez, es autor de varios libros de ajedrez y ha grabado unos cuantos DVDs de entrenamiento para ChessBase. Fue editor también de “Trend Publications”. Andrew Martin vive en Sandhurst (Inglaterra), está casado y es padre de dos niñas y dos niños.
