Original and aggressive 1...b6 for practical players

La defensa Owens con 1...b6 es parte de un sistema de aperturas a la vez complejo y poco explorado, que ofrece en la práctica la oportunidad de salir de los caminos conocidos en una fase muy temprana de la partida, para plantear problemas nuevos y difíciles. Son corrientes las transposiciones a otras aperturas y estructuras, lo que la hace una herramienta ideal para jugar a ganar con negras contra rivales muy teóricos. En este DVD Nigel Davies muestra como usar las líneas con ...b6 para ampliar un repertorio a base de la defensa Francesa (por ejemplo con 1.d4 e6 2.c4 b6!?) y aporta respuestas a 1.Cf3 y 1.c4. También muestra como 1...b6 puede usarse como defensa contra 1.e4, por jugadores que quieran ir a ganar y a los que no les importe afrontar riesgos.

Otras aperturas de flanco

Además de las dos jugadas principales 1.e4 y 1.d4, también se juegan 1.c4 y 1.Cf3, que se consideran formas muy sólidas y respetables de comenzar la partida. No obstante, las blancas también pueden permitirse arrancar con 1.b3, 1.g3 o incluso 1.f4 o 1.b4.
