Darko Anic

born 1957, is a French grandmaster whose roots lie in Croatia, where he learned chess at the relatively late age of 14 when fascinated by Fischer’s successes in the candidates’ matches. He became champion of Croatia in 1985. Since 1987 Anic has lived in France and in 1997 he was runner-up in the national championships. In 1995 he founded a chess school (Institut Le Cavalier Bleu), which is very popular.
