  • Opening tutorials: What openings are there actually? What is the right opening for me? Let the opening tutorials briefly introduce you to all the established openings and find your favorites.
  • Videos in the encyclopedia: 100 first-class openings in video format commented by the most popular ChessBase authors: Daniel King, Mihail Marin, Jan Werle, and many more. (All videos in English; total running time: over 35 hours).
  • Professional opening analyses by grandmasters & international masters: You will find 1,524 opening articles under the menu item “Ideas for your repertoire”!
  • The game database with over 40,000 games contains the games from the opening articles, including all sample games. You can find this database in the menu on the left under the “Game database” tab.
  • Opening overviews: Get an overview of the current state of chess theory. Grandmaster Lubomir Ftacnik has created 372 new opening overviews for the Lexicon 2025! There are 7,983 overviews in total!
