Yelena Dembo

born in 1983, is an International Master since 2003 and Woman Grandmaster since 2001. She has one GM norm. She is the top Greek female chessplayer and has participated in 4 Olympiads. Yelena has won 8 medals in World and European Championships, including the bronze medal in the 2005 European Women’s Championship in Moldova. Yelena has published more than 100 annotated games in Chess Informant. She has been working as a chess journalist from the age of 15. Her contributions have been published in magazines and websites from Austria, Germany, Hungary, Russia, Czech Republic and Greece. For several years she has also been working as a professional chess trainer, with students from 36 countries, ranging from beginners to titled players. She also teaches online on chess servers.
