Spyridon Skembris
born in 1958, is a grandmaster and four times champion of Greece. In 1977 he came in 3rd in the Junior World Championships and between 1980 and 1994 he represented Greece at 8 Chess Olympiads. In the European Club Championship of 1992 he won the gold medal for the best performance on board 2. For many years Skembris has been working as a trainer, both as national trainer for Greece and in various European countries.
