Ľubomír Ftáčnik
Ľubomír Ftáčnik, born in Bratislava in 1957,
is a Slovak chess grandmaster and former European Junior Champion.
He earned the grandmaster title in 1980 and won the Czechoslovak Championship four times during the 1980s.
Ftáčnik achieved his greatest team success in 1982,
when he helped Czechoslovakia win the silver medal at the Chess Olympiad in Lucerne.
He has worked for ChessBase since 1988, contributing for many years to ChessBase Magazine,
producing training courses and helping to maintain the Mega Database.
