In the 307 selected annotated games you will find, e.g., annotations from Bologan, Inarkiev and Radjabov, but the lion’s share – 169 games – come from Igor Stohl, who looked after the opening for many years for ChessBase Magazine. As a total there are 4056 games, with an average rating of the players of at least 2450 (apart from games played by experts and those which have comments).
System requirements: Pentium PC, 2 GB RAM, Windows 10, 8 or 7 and Fritz 13, 14, 15, 16 or ChessBase 15, 14, 13 or 12 and DVD drive.
The database loads the overview of the games. A double click loads any game. Using the Players tab allows you to sort the games by frequency. That allows a closer examination of the games played by experts in the Volga Gambit such as ex-European champion Pavel Tregubov (66 games). Alexander Khalifman (36) and Gerald Hertneck (48) are other specialists in this opening the study of whose games will be rewarding.
The games can be played through or investigated further with an engine or a powerbook.
