La Semieslava (1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Cf3 Cf6 4.Cc3 c6) puede surgir tras diversos órdenes de jugadas, ha decidido Campeonatos del Mundo y es una de las más fascinantes respuestas de las negras a 1 d4. La complejidad y las muchas posibilidades de la variante han fascinado a campeones mundiales y a generaciones de fuertes jugadores, pero los aficionados a menudo encuentran las líneas demasiado complejas de manejar.
