Crushing Isolated Queen’s Pawn Tactics

Corresponde al jugador con el peón de dama aislado (en inglés, isolated queen’s pawn, abreviado como IQP) encontrar recursos dinámicos que compensen su debilidad estructural. El objetivo de este DVD es ofrecer al espectador ejercicios tácticos que también ilustren las perspectivas de ataque en posiciones con peón de dama aislado y como las posiciones consiguientes pueden surgir a partir de multitud de aperturas, el contenido del DVD destaca la importancia de comprender este tipo de estructura de peones.

A tal fin, obras maestras bien conocidas como Steinitz-Von Bardeleben (Hastings 1895) y Kamsky-Short (Candidatos Linares, 1994) se analizan en profundidad para ponerle mejor al tanto de los planes típicos del bando atacante, pero por supuesto se han incluido también partidas menos conocidas. Para intentar aclarar los conceptos lo más posible, todos los ejercicios se presentan desde el punto de vista de las blancas, pero eso no significa que esos tipos de posiciones no puedan darse con los colores cambiados. Las preguntas de test no están agrupadas por temas, dejando al espectador el esfuerzo consciente de escoger entre distintos planes: ¿Se debe movilizar la torre por la tercera fila para aumentar la presión, preparar el avance central d4-d5 o asestar un sacrificio inmediato a tiro de piedra del rey negro?
