The Torre Attack begins with the moves d4, Nf3 and Bg5 against ...Nf6 from Black, followed by either ...g6, ...e6 or ...b6. This set-up for White is surprisingly popular among top players, and thus this powerbook has a higher ratio of human games than other powerbooks.
One of the main lines is 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 e6 3.Bg5 c5 4.e3. Now 4...b6 is not particularly good, which was found out a long time ago but the move is still played again and again (and most often goes unpunished!).
The Powerbook shows striking statistics after 5.d5!, which is markedly better than the alternatives. Therefore, Black should prepare ...b6 with 4...h6 or 4...Be7 or refrain from it completely.
