Fortify your defences

Every chess player likes to attack. Every chess player likes to put pressure on their opponent. But when the tables are turned, and we become the target of an attack, we may feel uncomfortable, anxious, and insecure. Yet we can save an incredible number of defensive positions if we know the techniques and rules-of-thumb.

As a coach of the Austrian national women›s team for many years and as a certified psychological trainer, International Master Harald Schneider-Zinner shares his experience and knowledge, with the aim of strengthening your chess resistance. He demonstrates numerous methods and defensive ideas and gives lots of psychological tips. Topics such as «sense of danger»; «ghosts»; «emergency brake»; «trend»; «on and on»; and many other innovative approaches are discussed in detail. After studying, you too may be among the chess players who can offer amazing resistance, even in bad positions, and drive the attacker to despair!
