Àlvar Alonso Rosell
Àlvar Alonso Rosell is a renowned Spanish chess grandmaster and former Catalan youth champion.
In 2011, he achieved the greatest success of his career up to that point by winning the Spanish Championship.
Another major highlight came in 2018, when he won the Sunway Sitges Chess Festival,
finishing ahead of distinguished grandmasters such as Vassily Ivanchuk and Dmitry Andreikin.
Alongside his tournament career, Alonso Rosell works as a coach and author
and regularly contributes opening repertoires to ChessBase Magazine.
