Sagar Shah

Sagar Shah, born in Mumbai in 1990,
is an Indian International Master, chess journalist, commentator, entrepreneur and ChessBase author.
Initially trained as a chartered accountant, he subsequently decided to pursue a professional career in chess.
Shah earned the International Master title in 2014 and also achieved two grandmaster norms.
He reached his peak rating of 2468 in September 2014.
In early 2016, he founded ChessBase India together with his wife, Amruta Mokal, and serves as its CEO.
Under their leadership, ChessBase India has developed into a major news, video and media platform for Indian chess.
Shah regularly reports from top international tournaments and also works as an interviewer, commentator and coach.
For ChessBase, he has produced the video course Learn from the Classics
and contributed to further training series with grandmasters including Anish Giri and Surya Ganguly.
