Based on over 1.6 million games, of which some 5% were played by humans, the related areas of the Slav and the Semi-Slav are dealt with together in this Powerbook. This results in some interesting statistical discoveries, since where human theory can only point to a dozen games, Powerbooks can often display numbers in the thousands. One trend worthy of note is seen in the most frequent moves for both sides: 1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.Nc3 e6 5.e3 Nbd7 6.Qc2 Bd6 7.Bd3 0-0 8.0-0 dxc4 9.Bxc4 and now 9...a6 has overtaken the previous main continuation 9...b5 as the most frequently played move. After 10.Rd1 b5 11.Bd3 Bb7 12.Ng5 h6 13.Nge4
humans play 13...Be7, but engines prefer 13...Bc7 and with over 19 000 games excellent opportunities for study are on offer.
The Slav and Semislav Powerbook 2018 is an opening book that you can use with your Fritz or ChessBase program. It does not come with a database - so there are no games included.
