A lifetime repertoire: Play the Nimzo Indian

Certes, les Échecs modernes nous le démontre chaque jour, il ne faut pas espérer trouver dans ce jeu des vérités éternelles. Il existe toutefois des ouvertures qu'on peut, une fois qu'on les a bien comprises, jouer sa carrière durant avec plaisir et succès. L'ex-champion du monde FIDE 2004 expose dans ce DVD tout ce qui est nécessaire de connaître pour jouer avec les Noirs la Défense Nimzo-Indienne (1.d4 ♞f6 2.c4 e6 3.♘c3 ♝b4). On retrouve ce grand classique dans pratiquement tous les championnats du monde et dans les grands tournois. Rustam Kasimdzhanov présente des variantes concrètes en proposant de nombreuses nouveautés. Mais il explique aussi les finesses positionnelles qui permettent d'accélérer la compréhension du sens profond de chaque coup de cette ouverture.

Par exemple, sur 4.e3, le GM ouzbek conseille 4… c5 suivi de ...b6 pour solidifier la retraite du ♝ en a5. Dans la variante principale avec 4.♕c2, il aime 4...0-0. Il répond par 4...b6 à 4.♘f3, avec l'idée de jouer ♝b7 et d'échanger en c3. Sur 4.f3, il privilégie 4...d5 – la variante principale classique plutôt que le plus populaire 4...c5.
