Leonid Kritz

Leonid Kritz, born in Moscow in 1984,
is a German chess grandmaster.
He moved to Germany with his family at the age of 12.
In 1999, he became Under-16 World Champion, and in 2003 he earned the grandmaster title.
At the 2004 FIDE Knockout World Championship, Kritz defeated leading Indian player Krishnan Sasikiran in the first round.
He represented Germany at the 2004 Chess Olympiad and the European Team Chess Championships in 2005 and 2007.
Kritz reached his peak rating of 2624 in 2010.
He studied mathematics, financial economics and finance in the United States and now works in quantitative finance.
In 2022, he co-founded the Four Knights Chess Academy with Grandmaster Eugene Perelshteyn.
