Damengambit

Die Besetzung des Zentrums mit 1.d4 ist neben 1.e4 einer der beliebtesten Partieanfänge. Begegnet Schwarz dem Zug des Damenbauern mit dem symmetrischen 1...d5, entsteht nach 2.c4 das Damengambit. In den meisten Fällen wird Schwarz nun den Bauern auf d5, der seinem Spiel Halt im Zentrum gibt, unterstützen: entweder mit 2...e6 – dem Abgelehnten Damengambit – oder 2...c6 – der Slawischen Verteidigung. Eine dritte, ganz anders geartete Möglichkeit ist 2...dxc4, das Angenommene Damengambit.
